OpenTab, founded in July 2025, is a social project aimed at closing the digital divide for students from disadvantaged backgrounds in India. Our efforts and motivations are rooted in the belief that every student, regardless of their circumstances, should have the opportunity to thrive in a world shaped by technology.Â
To actualize the same, we are working toward building an inclusive ecosystem that combines access with awareness and skill enhancement. In its early stages, the project is focused on exploring interventions such as a student survey that gauges insights on current usage and needs, engaging reading materials to encourage safe entry points into technology for younger children as well as informational resources and funding for useful devices and a learning space that creates pathways older students, to connect to mentors and skilling opportunities. By taking a holistic, long-term route, our vision is clear: to equip the next generation with the literacy, conviction, and support they need to succeed, and in doing so, contribute to a more equitable and future-ready society.
